Avocado and Yogourt
This facial mask is especially good for use during winter months when the skin needs that extra moisture. But it can be used year 'round!
Also very good for those who suffer with dry skin, as the avocado and yogourt will both smoothe and hydrate skin. Yogourt is additionally beneficial as its enzymes gently exfoliate the skin and naturally clean.
1 ripe avocado (not brown or over-ripened)
1 Tablespoon of organic, natural yogourt
Optional: Add a pinch of coconut oil
Cut avocado in half and remove pit. Scoop out the green meat and place in a glass bowl. Mash avocado meat using a fork, and add the yogourt. Mix well.
Apply to face and chin (neck also, if desired) using clean fingertips, but avoid the delicate area of the eyes (the mix is not harmful, but may irritate if inserted into eyes).
The refrigerated temperature of the yogourt also acts as a cooling agent and anti-inflammatory.
Rinse with warm water.
*Note: Photo at left is representative only. Facial mask mix may not be as 'green' in colour when prepared. Discard after use, do not keep balance as avocado will begin to turn brown and rot.
Know your ingredients: If you can't pronounce them, don't eat them or put them on your skin! Always try to buy the best; an organic facial mix is less expensive than a pharmaceutical one!
