Cauliflower Purée

 

Easy and super healthy recipe by Kids Naturally!

 

Cauliflower purée is a great alternative to mashed potatoes,

and can even be mixed with mashed potatoes for that added snap of flavour and nutrition.

​

Once you have done this cauliflower purée, you can also

use it to make fried cauliflower patties by just adding a bit of egg and bread crumbs... Great for breakfast or as a side dish!

Ingredients

  • 1 cauliflower, cut into large chunks and leaves removed

  • 1 cup of water

  • a touch of salt

  • pepper to taste

  • 2 Tbsp. butter or alternative

 

Instructions

  • Place cauliflower chunks in a pot with the water and bring to a boil

  • Once water begins to boil, cover and simmer for 10 minutes until cauli is soft and fork-tender

  • Drain rest of water and return cauliflower to medium-low temperature pot, adding salt, pepper and butter or butter alternative

  • Mash using a potato masher and mix well with a wooden spoon
