

Cauliflower Purée
Easy and super healthy recipe by Kids Naturally!
Cauliflower purée is a great alternative to mashed potatoes,
and can even be mixed with mashed potatoes for that added snap of flavour and nutrition.

Once you have done this cauliflower purée, you can also
use it to make fried cauliflower patties by just adding a bit of egg and bread crumbs... Great for breakfast or as a side dish!

Ingredients

1 cauliflower, cut into large chunks and leaves removed

1 cup of water
-
a touch of salt
-
pepper to taste
-
2 Tbsp. butter or alternative
Instructions

Place cauliflower chunks in a pot with the water and bring to a boil

Once water begins to boil, cover and simmer for 10 minutes until cauli is soft and fork-tender

Drain rest of water and return cauliflower to medium-low temperature pot, adding salt, pepper and butter or butter alternative

Mash using a potato masher and mix well with a wooden spoon
