FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CHORUS HAMILTON, one of Hamilton's finest choral ensembles, presents Johannes Brahms' most celebrated choral work, A German Requiem, with chamber orchestra, on Sunday March 25, 2018, starting at 3:00 p.m. in St. Paul's United Church, 29 Park Street West in downtown Dundas, Ontario. Guest artists will be Melanie Conly, soprano; Chad Louwerse, baritone; Erika Reiman, pianist, and under the direction of David Holler, conductor.
Deeply moving, profound, and powerful, Brahms' Requiem, with text from the Lutheran Bible, focuses on the living, beginning with "Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted" from the Beatitudes. They are meant primarily as a consolation for mourning survivors, but also contain much hope and blessing for the departed. This concert, the second in the choir's 2017-2018 series, will be one of inspiring choral music that will leave the listeners with much peace and serenity!
Tickets are $25.00 on-line or at the door on the day of the performance. For tickets and more information visit the choir's website: www.chorushamilton.ca or contact Louise at 905-526-7938.
